The module accepts a standard midget  fuse which is socket mounted under a protective cover secured in place by a screw. This makes it fully touch safe. Fuses rated up to 25A can be used.

A current transformer in series with the fuse drives an analog meter that displays the load current. An external power supply is not required.

Other features include mounting on 32mm and 35mm DIN rails as well as dual input terminals to make daisy-chaining multiple modules easier. The Emphatec VanGuard - MFM is an inexpensive and easy way to add branch fuse protection and an ammeter to a control cabinet.
